Dr. Michel grew up in Kingwood, Texas just outside of Houston. She had multiple species of pets growing up which encouraged her desire to become a veterinarian. She attended Texas A&M University where she obtained a B.S. in biomedical Science in 1996, a B.S. in Veterinary Science in 1998, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. While at A&M she met her husband, Travis, who grew up in Tyler. After practicing in Houston for several years she and her husband moved back to Tyler in 2004 where she has been practicing ever since. She became owner of Chandler Veterinary Clinic upon Dr. Faubus’s retirement in late 2013. Dr. Michel enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and loves getting to know her patients and the owners that care for them.
Dr. Michel has been married to her husband TravisMarkle since 2001 and they have two sons, Finley and Connor, who keep them very busy. Currently their household has one cat named B.W. Dr. Michel is very active in the community including being a member of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and Marvin United Methodist Church, and has volunteered her time with St. Paul’s Children’s Foundation, All Saints Episcopal School, and various Junior League events.
